Where to Buy Wacom Bamboo Fun Cable Replacement

About two weeks ago, I had to go out to replace the cable of my Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch. Wacom pen tablets are normally very reliable. This is the reason Wacom has become the standard when it comes to graphics tablet. But this one unit was particularly giving me problems.

The Problem 

For a few months I have observed that while I was using GIMP to draw, I would occasionally get ink blots. When I am drawing, instead of getting straight lines, I would occasionally get broken lines in GIMP. For a while I thought it was one of those GIMP bugs. Because GIMP is currently being developed in Linux. There is no official support in Windows. Meanwhile, I was using GIMP on Windows 7.

Then I tried to use it in Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI the same thing happens. But it was not as frequent as when I use GIMP.

One day the cable just died and the pen tablet would not light anymore when I hovered my pen. I knew that the cable was the problem becomes when I twist it sometimes the tablet would work and sometimes It does not.

If you go to the Wacom website, in the store locator it sites several places in the Philippines which includes Apple Reseller stores. But what they will actually give you is the cable used to charge and transfer data to and from the Iphone. It cost almost 900 pesos. But don't buy there.

You can actually buy a USB to microusb at any CDR-King store. It cost only 50 pesos and it works fine.

I know because I actually bought a cable at the Apple store in Makati. Then out of curiosity I decided to try if it was available at CDR-King. And it was. Costly lesson learned.

Conclusion 

My Wacom tablet works fine now even when I am using GIMP. It appears that it was the cable causing the problem all along.

A World Cast in Blue

Ever since I been studying the principles of painting, I've been able to look at the world differently than before. For example, as I look outside the window, and morning is just breaking, for the first time I'm noticing that the world is actually bathed in a blue hue. I wonder if you people notice that or pay attention to that. I know that I did not before.

For me then, light was always white irregardless of the time of day. But it is different now that I am more observant.
