How to Clear Your Foggy Mind

I think I need to create a new blog because the title for this one sounds weird.

It is supposed to be about how it is like to live in Metro Manila. I think "LivingInTheMetro" would be a better name.

What do you think?

Right now I'm just using this one as a journal to write my random thoughts.

Hopefully by just rambling on paper, or in this case digital paper, it will help me stumble upon something worthwhile.

Do I sound weird?

Sorry to those who might stumble  upon this post. This is actually one of the necessary exercises to clear one's thought and to overcome a writer's block.

I actually feel like I am getting some progress. Right now I'm starting to think about Halloweens and Christmas. I think I will write about them.

Halloween is only a few days away. And we only think about Christmas after that.

Like Visiting an Old Friend

I just read all the posts I created in this blog. I felt like I was visiting an old friend. Am I the same person who wrote in this blog? It felt like it was someone else.

The last time I wrote was four years ago. And a lot of things have happened since then. I lost a few aunts, a few uncles, a few cousins, and a best friend. It's been a long time.

Maybe that is the reason why it feels a little strange.

How much did I change in those four years?

Writer's Block

Before the internet, before computers, writers used to write using a typewriter and blank pieces of paper. If he is suffering from a mental block you will see him hunkered down in front of the typewriter, holding his head, trying to figure out what to write. You will also notice crumpled pieces of paper filling the trash bin beside him.

This is how I am feeling right now.

Google Android versus Apple IOS Market Share

In 2007 Android OS was released to the public.  This was Google's answer to the IOS the software that runs  iPad and iPhone.  IOS was the most popular mobile operating system at the time.  It overtook Symbian which was used by Nokia and Blackberry OS which was used by Blackberry mobile phones almost overnight.

When Android was released it then overtook the IOS.

As of this year, 2015, Google's Android has captured 81.5% of the mobile market while Apple's IOS has 14.8% market share.

Android has indeed become very popular.  Why should it not?  The OS is very easy to use.  And there are a lot of applications available for download. Most of them are free.

As of February 2015 there are more than 1.4 million apps available for download at Google Play.

CDR King: Card Readers SD MicroSD

I have an old HP S300 camera which I still use. I bought it about four years ago. The problem with it is that I can still use its cable to charge its battery. But it no longer works for transferring photos to my PC.

One of the solutions I thought of is to buy a CDR King Card Reader since there are two CDR King stores near our house.

So that is what I did and I was finally able to transfer the pictures in my camera. But after two weeks the card reader no longer work and I don't know why. I did not drop the reader nor did it got spilled by a liquid. So it should be perfectly fine. Except that It wasn't.

When I got the chance again I bought another card reader to replace the broken one. It worked for a while then it was not being detected again.

And for the third time the one I recently bought is not working again.

My USB port is fine because I am able to use other USB based devices with it. It is just these CDR King branded card readers breaks down too easily.

With that, I would say, If you need a card reader , buy other brands because CDR King card readers are cheap but they aren't good.

The Days are Moving Quickly

It was just last year when I wrote my Early 2014 post. And now another year has passed and the days are moving quickly. It is already the seventh day of the year 2015 as I am writing this.

My belief is still the same just like I believed last year. We make our own fate. We are responsible if our year 2015 will turn out good or bad.

Still, I do believe in prayers. That it can help make our work become easier. But the bottom line is we still have to do the work.

Happy New Year! My greetings is already seven days late. The year is just beginning. Who knows what is up ahead. I do know that I plan to be more active with this blog.

New Year's Eve 2014

This New Year's Eve is different. Unlike the past New Year's Eve where I was feeling pumped up and excited, I just wanted this one to be over with. It is not because I've come to hate this day. It is because I've learned that it is just a pause. Amidst all the celebration and hopefulness we have for the coming year, you have to put in the work if you want to get somewhere. There is no luck or good fortune involved. Maybe just a little bit. But the bulk of it is just work.

And that is why I was not excited about New Year's Eve unlike before.

And so what I am doing now is starting to work on 2015. I got some 365 days projects that I am thinking of like 365 days blogging, speed painting, programming, selling, print designing, etc.
